30 June 2010:
Bryon will be at HorrorFind Weekend 2010 (See "Signings").
Bryon just completed his new book, ACHERON, and is currently shopping
it to publishers. Here's the basic premise:
Captain Nate Leathers had thought that being a soldier in Iraq was hard enough.
And when his convoy is attacked and he is taken prisoner by Iraqi insurgents,
he thinks things won't get any worse than that either.
But that's when the entire world turns upside down. The city of Basra is under
siege from creatures far worse than your average terrorist. And now Leathers
will have to find a way to survive against monsters even more horrible than he
can imagine, some of which are even human.
ACHERON is a story of supernatural, survivalist horror set in
modern-day occupied Iraq. It is also a story of courage and
honor versus greed and religious extremism.
Readers of THE DESERT will find that it takes place in the same "mythos," but it
is not a sequel. However, there is a minor cameo by everyone's favorite
Pakistani-American bad-ass.
